Q.
My child is a first time player, should I be concerned?
A.
No, many of our players are first time players and our league is about teaching
the game of soccer and having FUN!
Q.
Is there traveling involved?
A. No,
The CSA has over 100 teams; therefore there is no need to travel to another
park or city. All games are played at the Gateway Community Park located
near the Southwest Florida International Airport.
Q. What type of coaches are associated with the CSA?
A. CSA
coaches must sign a statement of faith. In addition, a background check is
conducted on all coaches to assure protection for the children.
Q.
Is my child expected to make every practice and/or game?
A. No,
the CSA is a league of fun and understanding. Please keep in mind that
soccer is a team sport and its important to support the team as if teams do not
practice together and play games with the proper number of players, it will have
an adverse effect on the moral of the team.
Q. Will
my child play every game?
A. Yes,
CSA has a rule that all players must play at least 1/2 of every game.
Q. I have
more than one child, how does the league work with me so that I don't have to be at the Park every night of the
week?
A. The
CSA is the only soccer league in the country that guarantees same night practice
for all siblings in the household (during our Fall Season). In other words, if you have more than
one child, all brothers and sisters will practice on the same night!
Q. What
time are practices and games?
A.
Practice will be scheduled for a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday. There are
two time periods for practices, 6:00pm and 7:00pm. Games are played on
Friday nights and Saturdays. Children love to play under the lights so we
schedule teams to play on Friday nights about every other week with every team
playing on Saturdays. In other words, your child my play two times a week
with one practice. The game times normally start at 9:00am and are
scheduled through early afternoon.
Q. Can I
request a certain coach or team?
A. Many factors are considered when dividing teams. Age, Gender, and Skill level. Special consideration is given to parents that volunteer to coach, team mom or sponsor a team.
Q.
May my child play in an age division that does not correspond with his/her
current age?
A. Yes, but
the move to another age division must be a higher age division
and not a lower age division.
Q. Will
my daughter have to play with boys?
A.
During the Fall season we have separate girls and boys teams in the Under 8
through Under 14, our Under 4, Under 6 and Teen division (18 and under) are
co-ed. We may find it necessary to have the Under 14 division as co-ed
during the
Spring as well - depending on how many teams we have.
Q.
What do I need to bring to registration?
A.
There is no need for a birth certificate. Just knowing general information
about your child is all that is required.
Q.
What does the registration fee cover?
A. The
registration fee pays for your child's uniform, trophy and insurance
protection. In addition, the fees also pay for Park equipment such as
soccer
nets, goals, benches, field maintenance, lining of the fields and any other
equipment necessary to maintain a soccer complex.
Q.
My family has had bad experiences at other soccer clubs; how can we be assured
that it won't happen with the CSA?
A. The
CSA was founded on the fact that other soccer clubs did not have the
child's and parents best interests. In forming the CSA, bylaws were put
in place so that the focus is on the child. In addition, it is our desire
to accommodate the parents with same night practice for siblings during our Fall
Season so no child
is deprived of playing soccer because of a parent's busy schedule.
Q.
What type of equipment do I need to buy for my child to play CSA soccer?
A. The
league buys your child's jersey, shorts and socks during the Fall, you will be
responsible for shin guards and soccer cleats. For the Spring season
you will be responsible for black shorts, black socks as well as
shin guards and soccer cleats.
Q. WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?
A.
We are unable to honor requests for refunds after registrations.
